Regularisation of Long Term Undocumented Migrants Scheme

 

The long anticipated Regularisation of Long Term Undocumented Migrants Scheme will be open onRegularisation of Long Term Undocumented Migrants Scheme 31 January 2022, for undocumented migrants to apply to regularise their residency status in the State.

 

The applications will be accepted for a six months period from 31 January 2022 until 31 July 2022.

 

The general criteria that applies to all applicants is as follows:-

  • Have met the undocumented residency criteria
  • Are of good character and of good conduct, and
  • Have no adverse criminal record in this State or any other country.

 

There are a total of 4 types of applications that can be made, each with a slightly different criteria to be met: 1) Single application, 2) Family application (couple only), 3) Family application (with at least one dependent minor child), 4) Family application (with at least one dependent adult child)

 

Single application:

The criteria for a single/principal applicant is as follows:-

  • Must be a Non EEA national
  • Over the age of 18
  • Have been living undocumented in the State continuously for the last four years prior to 31 January 2022.

 

Family application (couple only):

The principal applicant must have been living undocumented in the State continuously for the last four years prior to 31 January 2022.

 

The spouse/partner must have lived in the State undocumented continuously for the last two years prior to 31 January 2022.

 

Family application (with at least one dependent minor child):

The principal applicant for this application must have lived in the State undocumented continuously for the last three years only.

 

The spouse/partner and any dependent children between the age of 18-23 must have lived in the State undocumented continuously for the last two years, and must have been living with the principal application as a family unit for at least two years prior to 31 January 2022.

 

Minor children under the age of 18 only requires to be residing with the principal applicant immediately prior to 13 January 2022.

 

Family application (with at least one dependent adult child):

The principal applicant must have been living undocumented in the State continuously for the last four years prior to 31 January 2022.

 

The spouse/partner and any dependent adult child between the age of 18-23 must have lived in the State undocumented continuously for the last two years, and must have been living with the principal application as a family unit for at least two years prior to 31 January 2022.

 

Dependent children over age of 23 generally cannot be included in a family application. However, there appears to be an exception for children over the age of 23 who are residing with the principal applicant as a family unit and who suffer from a mental or physical disability. Please note that medical evidence will be required.

 

The application fee for single applications is €550, and all family applications is €700.

 

A successful application will be granted a Stamp 4 residency permission for two years, which enables you to take up employment freely, and can establish a business.
