Motor Accidents

Have you been involved in a road traffic accident? If so you need to know the following essential information.        

1. Get the registration number of the other motor vehicle
2. Get the insurance policy details number of the other driver from the disc
   on window screen and importantly the expiry date of the policy
3. Get the full name and address of the driver and if different from the
   registered owner, the full name and address of the registered owner.
4. Get the names and addresses of any witnesses to the accident including their telephone number as this may be very important at a later date if there is any issue on liability                             
5. Report the matter to the local Gardai if the Gardai do not attend at the accident scene as this equally may be very important at a later date if the accident is denied or if the person who collided with you has no insurance.
6. Do not admit liability to the other driver as it is generally a condition of
   your insurance policy
